Two people were killed as a result of a shootout at a polling station in Diyarbakir, Turkey, during a referendum on amendments to the country’s constitution.


According to the NTV channel, the shootout took place on the street near the school where the polling station is located. Presumably, the reason for the conflict in the political views of citizens of different countries.

During the confrontation in the course went not only firearms, but also knives and sticks. Two people were shot and another was injured.

Today in Turkey, with increased security measures, a referendum is held on a number of constitutional changes that provide for the transition to the presidential system of government. Amendments to the constitution were already approved by the Turkish parliament and signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
